HIGH TECH BY ACTION MOBIL WITH A NEW FACE: A compact all-wheel motorhome for the big adventure: Small turning radius, high additional load, hydraulic lift for 2 spare tires and a motor bike, high-degree burglarproof cabin, 4 seats in cockpit, 2 separate double beds, designer bedroom on 1st floor, comfort amenities in the cabin.
…we have looked for new challenges: Dense bush, deep sand and extreme dust!
Test route: dry riverbeds: OMBONDE and KHOWARIB in the Northwest of Namibia. For safety reasons we recommend to drive these routes always in a convoy!
The video gives an overview of the second part of the ACTION MOBIL founders and CEOs test drive with the Atcama motor home in the wilderness of Namibia - from the coastal fog along the Skeleton Coast to the Purros Canyon, the green river oasis in the HOARUSIB.
The founders of ACTION MOBIL as well as the present managers are enthusiastic globetrotters. In the end of 2016 they put the new Atacama 6300 to a test drive in the rough terrain of the Kaokoveld in Namibia. Otti Reitz produced a documentary about this test trip and included material of driving in dry and wet riverbeds, mastering narrow passages and extreme ground formations and close encouters with the famous Desert Elephants of Namibia.
A client was kind enough to lend us the ACTION MOBIL ATACAMA 6300 to carry out this test drive. It is a rare sign of trust for which the Management wishes to express a big thank you.
The objective of this test drive was to gather technical data and to find out how the vehicle behaves off-road under difficult conditions. Before setting off, technical devices for chassis optimization were installed at our plant.
Unspoilt landscapes where you feel like being on the moon - not to be reached in a common motorhome!
ACTION MOBIL globetrotter motorhomes are built and equipped to master such landscapes. As nature in Namibia is highly sensitive and in many places totally untouched by civilization, we deem it our duty to protect those landscapes and to leave as few traces as possible when travelling through. You should not deviate from existing tracks in order not to leave fresh tyre traces in areas that have been untouched so far.
The chassis of the ATACAMA 6300, in which we are on tour here, has been optimized in some respects and we are testing it now. Technical innovations have been developed for improving the driving behaviour with regard to short and deep bumps.
A three-point suspension of the sub-frame allows for an optimum axle articulation in off-road terrain. Innovative damping elements are to reduce the pendular movement of the vehicle body. Test results and our experience during the journey will be reported in Part 3.
